UPDATE: We have NO MORE PASSES to give out. If you already got a pass to our advance screening, congratulations! We look forward to seeing you at the Plaza Theatre on Monday, August 9th. Please remember that Monday's event is just like any advance screening where you still need to get to the movie theatre early to secure your seat.

Big thanks and hugs to everyone who came out for our Scott Pilgrim Vol. 6 party here at the store a couple of weeks ago (if you missed it, you can read a great recap on our friend San's blog, check out the photos, or watch this video).

As you may have already heard, our Scott Pilgrim celebration continues into August with an advance screening of the film adaptation AND an in-store signing with two of the stars from the movie and its director. Sweet! Here is the full scoop on both events...

#SPvsATL Round 2:
Scott Pilgrim vs The World screening
at the Plaza Theatre

On Monday, August 9th, at 8:00pm, Criminal Records will be hosting an advance screening of Scott Pilgrim vs The World at our favorite indie movie theatre, The Plaza.

But, wait, that's not all! At some point during the evening's festivities, there will be a Q&A with the film's director Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) and other special guests.

Please remember that the usual advance screening rules apply.
If you're not familiar with how it works, please be aware that advance screenings are always overbooked (meaning that more passes/tickets are distributed than there are available seats) to ensure that the theatre is filled to capacity. Your pass does not guarantee you a seat, so please remember to get to the Plaza early on Monday if you want to get in. It is first come, first served. And this should go without saying, but I'm going to say it anyway -- NO recording devices are allowed. Also, Universal Pictures reserves the right to admit, revoke admission, or refuse access to the theatre at the discretion of an authorized representative.

#SPvsATL Round 3:
Scott Pilgrim vs The World signing
at Criminal Records
On Tuesday, August 10th, at 3:00pm, Criminal Records is hosting an in-store signing with Michael Cera, Jason Schwartzman, and Edgar Wright. This is a free and all-ages event, but here are a few things you need to know in advance.

Michael Cera, Jason Schwartzman, and Edgar Wright will only sign 1 item per person, and that 1 item needs to be a Scott Pilgrim-related item
(graphic novels, along with the movie soundtrack on CD and vinyl, will be available for purchase at the store). Asking any of them to sign an Arrested Development, Rushmore, or Shaun of the Dead DVD will get you booted from the line. Seriously. They are in town to promote their new movie, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, so please let them do that.

There will also be no posed photos with individual fans
, although you are welcome to take photos of the event (to save time, we will have a photographer on hand to snap pictures of everyone that comes up to the table). Please keep in mind that their time in Atlanta is very limited, and we all want to make sure that as many fans get to meet the guys while they are at the store. Please be respectful and considerate of your fellow fans and adhere to these rules so that everyone can get through the line.

And that line? Well, let's face facts. Michael Cera, Jason Schwartzman, and Edgar Wright are talented, adorable, and very popular. There is a very good chance that the autograph line may be long, so make sure you are prepared to wait.

So, to recap...
Round 2 checklist for Monday, August 9th:
  * Bring your screening pass and get to the theatre early!
  * Bring money for concessions. P
opcorn and soda are more delicious at the Plaza.
  * Bring your questions for Edgar Wright.
  * Bring your cute self. Costume optional, but encouraged!
Round 3 checklist for Tuesday, August 10th:
  * Bring (or buy from our store, ahem) a Scott Pilgrim book or soundtrack CD or vinyl LP. Each person may get only 1 Scott Pilgrim-related item signed.
  * Bring water and/or snacks. The line may be long, and it's always good to be prepared. (BTW, Criminal Records does not have a public restroom.)
  * Bring your manners. Again, the line may be long, and you're not the only person who wants to propose marriage, I mean, get an autograph. Be nice to your fellow fans!
  * Bring your cute self again. Costume optional, but encouraged!

Costumes are encouraged!
Gold stars to anyone who comes to our #SPvsATL events in costume. And, yes, it's totally A-OK to wear the same outfit two days in a row. If you need help figuring out which character to dress up as, come into the store and I (Lillian) will do my best to help you out. There is someone in the Scott Pilgrim books for everyone. ;)

Follow us on Twitter @criminalrecords or Like us on Facebook for the latest updates. If you're tweeting about or posting photos from our Scott Pilgrim events, please use the tag #SPvsATL so everyone can get in on the fun. (If you enjoy RSVP'ing to events on FB, you can do so right here.)

If you can't make it to our advance screening, don't forget that Scott Pilgrim vs The World is in theatres everywhere (in North America!) on Friday, August 13th. If any of you Scottaholics are up for getting together at a midnight screening on Thursday, I'm totally down for keeping this Scott Pilgrim celebration going. You know where to find me.

xoxo Lillian
